Our Pets are not Our Children

People who treat their animals like they are their children. It's a curious work to me. Why would you take the effort of dressing some animal up in clothes that it doesn't appreciate, drive it in a car seat that it doesn't care for and other crazy things? Why why why! This really bugs me. YOUR PETS AREN'T YOUR CHILDREN for crying out loud! Treat them like the animals they are! They don't deserve the dignity that you give them, they quite honestly don't want to be dressed in costumes and forced into a labor of love.

In fact I have a quite horrible story to tell you. My very own mother subjected her brother to this kind of torture. She dressed him up in a dress and took him around in a stroller! A stroller! He didn't deserve that kind of embarassment, and now he is probably scarred for life. Like so with the animals. It is really embarassing, mostly for the animal! Do you think he/she enjoys being stared at, being pointed at and being the butt of all the jokes that morning? Absoluelty not! People, out of the kindness of your heart, please don't do this to your animals. Nobody likes to be forced to put on a show, especially the beastial members of our society.

On top of dressing your dogs, I think it's even more ridiculous to treat them like royalty practically. Pushing them in stollers? Buckling them in your car! That makes about as much sense as drinking terpentine for breakfast! Your dogs are supposed to run free, to enjoy the outdoors, not be locked into wheeled jail cells of doom. Plus, why waste a good 200-300 dollars when you could simply just put your dog on a leash? You could probably save at least 100-200 dollars. Come on people! This one really raises eyebrows. Don't fall into this folly. No excersize for your pets, too much excersize for you and your bank account.

So what should we do? Let's urge others around us to treat pets like the animals they are. They simply do not enjoy some of the more civilized goodies that we humans get to have. They don't like rap music, they can't order pizza, they don't write poetry, I mean come on! We gotta draw the line somewhere. Believe it or not, a dog can't tell you he loves you back, and he can't buy YOU clothes and return what you have given it; it is a one-sided love, a love that leaves one empty in the maze of meloncholy. Let's be reasonable. Let's treat dogs like dogs, and kids like kids.
